"It is the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) that those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed." – Charles Darwin
My love of collaboration is one of the main forces that keeps me in love with theatre. I always make more exciting art when I am part of a team, and I think the ability to play off others' ideas and contributions is what allows an ensemble to achieve something that simply cannot be accomplished by an individual. To me, collaboration is all about building something together and helping each other grow in the process.
I have collaborated as an actor, adjudicator, advisor, announcer, arranger, assistant, attendant, board operator, boom operator, buyer, carpenter, caterer, child wrangler, choreographer, coach, conductor, consultant, crew head, dancer, designer, developer, deviser, director, dramaturg, dresser, editor, emcee, facilitator, house manager, lyricist, makeup artist, musician, nanny, painter, panelist, planner, presenter, producer, promoter, prompter, props master, puppeteer, runner, singer, stagehand, stage manager, stand-in, stitcher, student, teacher, technician, usher, writer, and youth counselor.
Outside of my work in the theatre, I collaborate daily with my husband Bill to run the household and raise our son Jack.
